Carol Lombard

Carol Lombard - Piano Instructor

Carol has been teaching piano since the early 1980s. She received her Bachelor's degree in Music Education from Winona State University in 1986, with majors in piano, viola, and voice, and a minor in cello. Her piano studies at WSU under Robert Hungerford culminated in her senior piano recital of works by Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, and Debussy.

Carol has been a member of Music Teachers National Association, Wisconsin Music Teachers Association, and La Crosse Area Music Teachers Association since 2016. She also serves as a violist -- in various music ensembles and as an occasional soloist -- at her church, St. Paul's Lutheran, in Onalaska.

Carol's greatest musical passion lies in teaching piano. She loves to meet new students, get to know their musical needs and desires, and design programs that build a solid foundation and nurture a fondness for music to last a lifetime.

In addition to teaching traditional piano to school-age students, Carol welcomes preschool children as young as two and a half for weekly one-to-one guided music experiences, gently preparing them for standard piano studies in their elementary years.

She takes a playful approach to music learning for very young children, and infuses her lessons with youth of all ages with creative experiences like improvising.

Watching students grow over the years in their ability to read music and play the piano with expressive beauty and sensitive artistry is very meaningful to Carol!
