Sue Ellen Dubbert
Piano Teacher
Sue Ellen Dubbert has been an active piano instructor since 2004. She received her Bachelor of Music Degree from Northern Illinois University and has completed training for the entire Suzuki piano method and Piano Practicum courses. She has also received training in Dalcroze Eurythmics attending courses in Minnesota, Maryland, and Colorado. Sue Ellen became a MTNA Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) in 2020.
In addition to teaching, Sue Ellen is an active accompanist for string students serving on the faculty of Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp Suzuki Family Camp and Suzuki String of Madison. She has also adjudicated student auditions for WMTA District Auditions and National Federation of Music Clubs Junior Festivals. She frequently performs alongside her cellist husband, Eric Miller. From 2010 to 2014 Sue Ellen taught Music Together, an international early childhood music program for children from birth to age five and their caregivers.
Sue Ellen specializes in a sequential approach to historical and contemporary piano literature and age-appropriate instruction at all levels. She has taught young beginners through advanced high school students as well as adults. She prioritizes encouraging, artistic, and thorough instruction for students at every level. Sue Ellen is a member of the Music Teachers National Association, Wisconsin Music Teachers Association, National Federation of Music Clubs, Suzuki Association of the Americas and the Suzuki Association of Wisconsin. She has served on the executive boards of the Suzuki Association of Wisconsin and Madison Area Music Educators.
