Kylie Krahn Bio

Kylie Krahn-Piano Instructor

Kylie Krahn is an aspiring piano teacher who is new to Reed Music Studios as of 2022. Music has always been an integral part of Kylie’s life, starting first with piano lessons at the age of seven. Her musical achievements include being involved in orchestra and band throughout her middle school and high school years in Viroqua, Wisconsin, along with working as an accompanist and even as a soloist for multiple ensembles. Annually, Kylie competed in solo ensemble competitions for various solo works and in a variety of ensembles as an accompanist, soloist, and as a regular member. For her last two years of competing, Kylie achieved perfect scores at State solo ensemble competition for her two solo piano pieces alongside earning exemplary nominations for both performances. In her last year of high school, Kylie participated in Dorian as the main orchestra’s first chair for cello, who even had a solo during the event. Outside of school Kylie volunteered weekly at nursing homes by playing piano for the residents from the age of nine until she graduated from high school.

Kylie is currently enrolled at Viterbo University working toward a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a piano specialty along with her accounting double major. Alongside piano, Kylie has studied the cello, flute, clarinet, saxophone, percussion, ukulele, harp, and has had experience in other instruments. For these instruments Kylie studied with Chelsey Rodgers, Dr. Mary Ellen Haupert, Dr. Meredith Mihm, Lauren Riels, Monika Sutherland, Elizabeth Cifani, Brad Lebakken, and Brad Thew, alongside other instructors and with independent learning. Her choir and voice journey started in her college years with her participating for at least one year in every one of Viterbo’s choirs, singing and playing for a variety of parts.

Outside of the piano studio Kylie enjoys spending time outside and with her friends, family, and pets. She is an avid animal lover and stays busy working as a barista and putting her focuses toward health and wellbeing. She loves to shop, cook, and even compose music in her free time, and she is always up for a game of tennis when the weather is nice.
