David Reedy

David Reedy, NCTM – Studio Founder, Co-Owner 

David Reedy opened the Reed Music Studios in 1987, after graduating from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse where he studied with the concert duet team Weekley and Arganbright. Mr. Reedy has been a member of the Music Teachers National Association and the Wisconsin Music Teachers Association (WMTA)since 1988, and obtained his National Certification from MTNA in 1999. He has been awarded the "Award of Excellence" from the Wisconsin Music Teacher's Association in 1991, 1998, 2000, 2005, 2006, 2009, 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2017. His students have been consistent first place winners in the WMTA State Piano Auditions.
Mr. Reedy's performance experience includes a solo performance with the UWLaCrosse Orchestra in their Carnegie Hall performance in New York City. He was also a soloist with the LaCrosse Symphony Orchestra, a soloist for the inaugural concert for the chancellor of UW-LaCrosse, as well as recital performances throughout the area. He also has accompanied several area instrumentalists in performances and competitions, which included a master class in Orchestra Hall, Minneapolis with cellist Yo-Yo-Ma. In 2013 he released a solo album "As Time Goes By". In 2014 he released “Rhythms of Life”. In November of 2017 he released "The Season", a holiday album to benefit the Coulee Region Humane Society, and donated over $3,500 to the organization. He has sold thousands of albums and is currently on all streaming services internationally.
Mr. Reedy has been a frequent adjudicator for the WMTA district and state competitions. In 1999, he started the LaCrosse Symphony Orchestra's Rising Stars Concerto Competition. He is the past President of the LaCrosse Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors. In 2015 he was awarded “Board Emeritus” by the LSO. In 2012 as President of the Board, he designed and launched an endowment campaign for the Orchestra that has raised over 1.5 million dollars. David has been the campaign chair in 2018 and 2019 for the United Fund for the Arts and Humanities.
In September of 2017 he was honored as "Outstanding Alumnus of the UW-LaCrosse Music Department". A concert and gala was held in his honor and a scholarship established in his name for piano majors, awarded annually. Mr. Reedy holds the Permanent Professional Nationally Certified Teacher of Music designation from the Music Teachers National Association.
