Christopher Rude

Guitar Instructor

Christopher has been teaching guitar lessons on and off for over three decades. Having graduated with a BA in Guitar Performance from UW La Crosse, he went on to study classical guitar in the graduate program at the Lamont School of Music in Denver. During this time, he worked with some of the world’s finest guitarists and served as a graduate guitar teaching assistant, while also teaching guitar privately and performing regularly. After graduate school, Chris went on to get an education degree at the Metro State College of Denver, while simultaneously teaching Choir, Theatre Arts, and guitar. Upon returning to Wisconsin in 2007, Christopher continued his post-graduate education with another certification program, this time in 6-12 foreign language, which enabled him to shift from middle-level choral music to the Spanish classroom, where he has remained ever since. Chris routinely supplements his full-time teaching employment by maintaining guitar studios, and has taught hundreds of people to play the guitar along the way. Chris is skilled at engaging and encouraging his guitar students, young and old, beginning and experienced, alike. He has refined his craft over the decades, applying lessons learned in the classroom to his teaching studio, and vice-versa. Chris is fluent in a variety of styles, but specializes in the classical style, recognizing it as the solid foundation upon which students are able to build toward any desired style over time.
