The one-on-one private lessons given at Reed Music Studios fall into the "traditional" category (not Suzuki or group lessons). Private lessons ensure that the student is able to progress at his or her own pace and has the undivided attention of the teacher.
Lessons are given throughout the entire year for approximately 30 or 45 minutes each week. Depending on the level and progress of the student, a 60 minute weekly lesson may be recommended.
During the time a student receives lessons, he or she will gain experience by learning about important music fundamentals, performing, various styles of repertoire and many composers. Note reading and music theory is encouraged from the very beginning of the child's music study in addition to promoting an overall positive musical experience during every stage of the learning process.
We encourage parental involvement and make every effort to keep an open line of communication in regard to progress and satisfaction.
"Practice makes perfect!" At home practice time is required and necessary for successful lessons and steady progress. Your instructor will help you with daily practice tips and guide you as to how much time is needed each week. The amount of practice recommended will vary based on the age and level of the student.
