LESSON PAYMENTS SHOULD BE MADE BY CHECK PAYABLE DIRECTLY TO YOUR INSTRUCTOR.
Lesson rates vary by instructor based on their background and experience. The amount generally ranges from $70.00 to $90.00 per month for a weekly thirty-minute lesson.*
*Some instructors prefer to offer forty-five minute weekly lessons - the cost for these lessons is adjusted proportionally.
You will receive information in regard to the fees of a specific instructor when you inquire about starting lessons.
The yearly lesson calendar is divided into four thirteen-week quarters. There are eleven lessons and two weeks of vacation scheduled in each quarter.
The cost for each quarter of lessons is divided into three equal monthly payments - therefore, the monthly payment amount remains the same through the whole year.
The monthly payment secures your specific lesson time on the instructor's schedule each week and compensates the teacher for their time in the event that you must cancel a lesson.
Some instructors will accept full payment for an entire quarter in advance - speak to your instructor if you are interested in this method of payment.
Please remember that lessons take place throughout the entire year. If you must temporarily discontinue lessons, you take the risk of losing your place on the instructor's schedule. The only way to "hold" a lesson time is by continuing regular payments through extended or periodic absences (in the summer or at any time during the year.)
WHEN PAYMENTS ARE DUE:
Payments need to be made in advance for the following month's lessons - due on the 25th of the month.
For example, the lessons that are scheduled to take place in September need to be paid on or before August 25th. Please make a note on your home calendar because you will not be sent monthly billing statements.
LATE PAYMENTS:
Payments made after the 25th of the month will be considered late and a fee of $10.00 will be automatically added to your payment amount.
If you do not have a lesson during the week of the 25th (due to absence or scheduled vacation), you are still responsible to make your payment on time. In this case, please send your payment in the mail or drop it in the studio mailbox.
We highly recommend using an automatic bill-paying service that is available at most banking institutions.
DELINQUENT ACCOUNTS:
If you are late in making your payment, and you do not include the $10.00 late fee, your teacher could remove you from their schedule. Due to the fact that independent instructors are self-employed, the option of suspending or releasing a student is the only means the teacher has to enforce payment policies. Thank you for your understanding.
ADDITIONAL TERMS:
After your registration fees are paid, your financial commitment for lessons is on a "month to month" basis.
There is no contract for a minimum number of months.
If you begin lessons in the middle of a quarter, your first payment will be pro-rated.
If you begin lessons in a month with scheduled vacation time, your first payment is the normal monthly amount because holidays are built into the calendar.
If you discontinue lessons in the middle of a quarter, you will not receive a refund for the remaining lessons that you have paid for.
For new students: if you are scheduled to begin lessons and have sent your registration fee and first month's lesson payment in advance as directed, and then cancel on short notice before you have even started, you will not receive a refund.
