Karla Wakeen joined the teaching staff at Reed Music Studios in June of 2004. Ms. Wakeen has been teaching music in the La Crosse area for many years, most of which were spent at Viterbo University. Karla has experience teaching private piano, group piano, music theory, and music technology and enjoys working with students of all ages and abilitiy levels.

Ms. Wakeen holds an undergraduate degree in music education from Viterbo University and a graduate degree in piano pedagogy from Western Illinois University, where she studied privately with Dr. Michael Campbell. Mrs. Wakeen has attended several jazz piano workshops with Ann Collins and has also received extensive specialized Suzuki training at the Suzuki Institute of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point. In addition to teaching at Reed Music Studios, Karla is a full time music instructor at Longfellow Middle School in La Crosse.
