Initiated by the student and/or parent:
If at any point you are unhappy with your lessons, please first discuss the problem with your instructor. Oftentimes, a simple conversation can identify and solve the problem.
Sometimes it is discovered that the student-teacher relationship is just not the right fit. In this case, please consider continuing your lessons with another teacher at the studio. If you are interested in this option, speak directly to your instructor if you feel comfortable doing so, or if you prefer, contact either David Reedy or Rita Schuman (studio co-owners) to discuss your concerns and situation.
Regardless of the reason, as a courtesy to your instructor, please provide as much notice as possible if you plan to discontinue lessons.
You may stop at any time, but keep in mind that you will not receive a refund for any remaining paid lessons.
If you decide to discontinue lessons on short notice at the end of a month - after already making a payment to your instructor for the following month's lessons - you will not receive a refund.
Initiated by the instructor:
A student may be removed from a teacher's schedule if the student has significant behavioral problems, refuses to cooperate, is verbally abusive, is disrespectful or consistently shows little or no progress.
Students may also need to be suspended if they miss many lessons or are behind in their financial commitments.
